A Neo-Hittite fortress and open-air museum in Osmaniye Province, Turkey, built in the 8th century BC by King Azatiwada of the Adana plain as protection against raids from the north. The site is famous for its bilingual inscription in Phoenician and Hieroglyphic Luwian, discovered in 1946 by Helmuth Theodor Bossert and Halet Cambel, which provided the key to deciphering Anatolian hieroglyphs. The fortified gates feature richly carved basalt reliefs depicting lions, sphinxes, and banquet scenes. Added to UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List in 2020.
