St. Jacob's Church Nisibis

The 4th-century Mar Yakov Church (Church of Saint Jacob) in Nisibis was originally constructed as the baptistery of a cathedral that no longer survives[1]. Located in modern-day Nusaybin, southeastern Turkey, the building exhibits Late Roman and Early Byzantine architectural characteristics[2]. While its original denomination remains undetermined between the Syriac Orthodox Church and the Church of the East, the structure now falls under Syriac Orthodox jurisdiction[1].
