Patara Meclis Binası

The Patara Bouleuterion (Meclis Binasi) is the parliament building of the ancient Lycian League, built in the late 2nd or early 1st century BC in Patara, Turkey. The semicircular structure could accommodate up to 1,400 people and served as the League's senate for over 500 years. Patara held three votes -- the maximum -- as one of the six largest Lycian cities. Regarded as the seat of the world's first democratic federal republic, the building was restored with support from the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
