Ancient City of Laodicea

Laodicea on the Lycus was a wealthy Hellenistic city in western Asia Minor, famous for its black wool production, banking services, and medical achievements [1][2]. Strategically located at crossroads of major trade routes, the city flourished from the 3rd century BC through Roman times [2]. Archaeological excavations began in 2003 under the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Pamukkale University [3].
