Anavarza Ruins

Anavarza (Anazarbus) is an ancient city in southern Turkey with well-preserved Roman and Byzantine ruins. The site features a 1,500-metre city wall with 20 bastions and four gates [1]. Key monuments include a colonnaded street, Roman theatre, stadium, and a triple-gated victory arch [1]. Additional remains encompass aqueducts, rock-cut tombs, necropolises, and a medieval castle [1]. A notable geological feature is a man-made fissure separating rock near the stadium [1].
