Çimdin Kalesi

Cimdin Kalesi is a fortress built on a rocky hill in southeastern Turkey [1] [2]. Constructed of hard limestone with white cut stone walls and bastions, the castle was used by Byzantine, Arab, and Akkoyunlu forces [3]. The interior was filled with rubble stone, and the western entrance features large caves beneath it, surrounded by a deep defensive ditch carved directly into rock on all four sides [1] [3]. Building remains and a water well have been documented within the castle complex [1].
