SpainAquis Querquennis is a Roman military fort in Ourense Province, Galicia, Spain, built c. 69-79 AD to house soldiers of Legio VII Gemina constructing the Via XVIII (Via Nova) between Braga and Astorga. Covering 2.4 hectares, it included headquarters, granaries, a hospital, five barracks, and a mansio. Flooded by the As Conchas reservoir in 1949, the fort is exposed when water levels drop and was designated a Bien de Interes Cultural in 2018.
