Roman Bridge of Lugo

A masonry arch bridge of Roman origin crossing the Minho river in Lugo, Galicia, Spain. Built in the early 1st century AD as part of Via XIX of the Antonine Itinerary connecting Lucus Augusti to Bracara Augusta (modern Braga), the bridge is approximately 104 metres long with eight arches spanning 5.6 to 10.4 metres. Constructed of local granite with dovetail-jointed ashlars, it has been rebuilt numerous times since the 12th century. Closed to vehicles in 2012 and restored in 2012-2013, it now serves as a pedestrian crossing on the Camino Primitivo pilgrimage route.
