Skarżysko-Kamienna is a city in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in south-central Poland, situated along the Kamienna river at the northern foothills of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The present-day districts of Łyżwy and Nowy Młyn were the locations of Paleolithic industrial settlements dating to approximately 11,000 BC, making this among the earliest known human occupational sites in the region. Prior to 1928, the city was known simply as Kamienna, and today it serves as one of the voivodeship's major urban centers while retaining historical significance through its prehistoric roots[1].
