Kleczanów Forest

Kleczanow Forest is a small forest complex near Kleczanow village in Sandomierz County, Poland, containing 37 well-preserved burial mounds (kurgans) arranged in four clusters across approximately 2 hectares. The oldest mound dates to the Corded Ware culture (c. 2800-2300 BC), with others from the Trzciniec culture (c. 1700-1100 BC), and later early medieval Slavic burials from the 8th-10th centuries. Discovered by Marek Florek in 1990 during the Archaeological Image of Poland project, the mounds range from 4 to 10 metres high and feature primarily crematory burial practices.
