Quispiguanca

(1464-1525 AD) Quispiguanca was a royal estate of Inca emperor Huayna Capac. The ruins are located in the northern part of the present-day town of Urubamba, Peru, at an elevation of 2,910 metres (9,550 ft). This site served as an elegant country palace and, at times, a fortress to protect against rivals for power. The estate exemplifies the practice of Inca emperors acquiring large royal properties to increase their wealth and authority, which could then be inherited by their descendants.
