Boca de Potrerillos

Boca de Potrerillos is a rock art site in the Sierra Madre Oriental, 14 km from Mina, Nuevo León, featuring one of Mexico's largest concentrations of prehistoric engravings across 6 km² [1][2]. The site contains approximately 10,000 images, with some of the earliest carvings dating to around 8900 BC [1]. Evidence of prolonged occupation includes charcoal samples radiocarbon-dated from 6960 BC to 1760 AD, alongside artifacts such as arrowheads, scrapers, grinding stones, and ceramic fragments [1]. The engravings include astronomical imagery.
