Calatia

Cālātia was an ancient town of Campania, 10 km southeast of Capua on the Via Appia near the Via Popillia junction. Its ruins include walls from both the Samnite period in tuff and the later Sulla era, plus a pre-Roman necropolis partially excavated in 1882 and ten tuff-lined shafts possibly serving as tomb approaches or wells [1].
