Legananny Dolmen

A Neolithic portal tomb on the slopes of Slieve Croob in County Down, Northern Ireland, approximately 4,500 years old. Its coffin-shaped capstone, over 3 meters long, is balanced on three upright stones reaching up to 2 meters high, giving it a distinctive tripod form likened to a coffin held high by pallbearers. Reports indicate an urn was found in the chamber beneath the tomb, and boulders under the grass suggest a cairn once covered the structure. A State Care Historic Monument, it is one of the most photographed megalithic sites in Ireland.
