Audleystown Court Tomb

Neolithic dual court tomb near the southern shore of Strangford Lough in County Down, Northern Ireland, built c. 3900-3500 BC. It features a unique double courtyard-double burial chamber layout within a trapezoid-shaped cairn, a form distinctive to Ireland. First excavated by A.E.P. Collins in 1952 as part of the Archaeological Survey of Northern Ireland, the dig uncovered remains of 34 individuals, both inhumed and cremated, along with mammal bones and charcoal traces. It is among more than 390 court cairns built across Ireland and Scotland during this period.
