Sita Gufa

Sita Gufa is a sacred cave in Panchavati, Nashik, Maharashtra, deeply connected to the Hindu epic Ramayana. According to tradition, this is where Goddess Sita lived with Lord Rama during their 14-year exile and where she was abducted by the demon king Ravana. The compact cave (approximately 2.5-3 metres) contains idols of Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana alongside an ancient Shivling. It is surrounded by five banyan trees from which the area derives its name Panchavati, and sits near the revered Kalaram Temple.
