Kudaro is a complex of Paleolithic cave sites in the highlands of Georgia, located at approximately 1,600 meters above sea level [1]. The caves contain Lower Paleolithic Acheulean artifacts including bifaces, choppers, and sidescrapers [1] [2] [3]. Radiothermoluminescent dating of the Acheulean layer (5c) yielded dates of 360,000 years ago [4]. The caves also yielded Middle Pleistocene vertebrate remains, including the Kudaro cave bear [5] [6].
