Rempstone Stone Circle

Rempstone Stone Circle is a Bronze Age monument near Corfe Castle on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, England. The surviving stones form an arc suggesting an original diameter of about 26 metres (85 feet), which would make it the second largest stone circle in Dorset. Unusually for the region, the stones are reddish hard stone rather than sarsen, and it is the only Dorset circle not located on the chalk hills west of Dorchester. In 1957, a row of 23 stones forming a possible avenue was discovered 800 metres west of the circle but subsequently removed. The site is a scheduled monument under legal protection.
