Sømarkedyssen

Soemarkedyssen is a Neolithic megalithic tomb near Soemarke on the Danish island of Moen, dating to approximately 3400 BC. The burial chamber has an octagonal design with a large capstone resting on seven load-bearing stones, accessed through a corridor covered by a smaller boulder supported by four stones. The corridor's upper surface bears more than 180 bowl-shaped carvings added during the Bronze Age, indicating continued ceremonial use centuries after construction. It is one of 119 known megalithic tombs across the 231 square kilometres of Moen and Bogoe islands.
