Rispebjerg

A multi-period archaeological site on the Danish island of Bornholm containing Neolithic sun temple remains and Iron Age earthworks [1]. The site features 5,000-year-old woodhenges dating to circa 2800 BC, one reconstructed with wooden stumps in original post holes [1]. Clay-covered platforms accessed by steps may have served as altars for sacrificial fires [1] [2]. Clay discs with sun symbols were found ritually buried beneath the poles [1].
