BulgariaAquae Calidae was an ancient Thracian thermal spa near modern Burgas, Bulgaria, with hot springs used since the Neolithic (6th-5th millennium BC). Roman baths were first built after Lucullus conquered the region in 72 BC, later expanded under Trajan. Notable visitors included Philip II of Macedon, emperors Justinian I and Constantine IV, and Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Today it is an open archaeological complex with restored Roman and Ottoman-era baths.
