Amyntas Rock Tombs

A 4th-century BC Lycian rock-cut tomb at ancient Telmessos (modern Fethiye, Turkey), carved into a cliff face to resemble a Greek temple facade with a triangular pediment and Ionic columns. The tomb interior contains a rectangular chamber with three stone benches (klinai) for burials. Named for Amyntas son of Hermapias, likely a local nobleman during the Achaemenid satrapy of Lycia. It is the largest of numerous rock tombs in the Fethiye cliffs.
