Pinara was a significant ancient Lycian city at the foot of Mount Cragus near the western bank of the River Xanthos [1]. The necropolis features remarkable rock-cut tombs, including a distinctive "royal tomb" with elaborate carved pillars [1][2]. Remains include an upper and lower acropolis, multiple temples, a theatre, an odeon, an agora, and an early Christian church [1][2].
