Ancient City of Blaundus

A Hellenistic city founded by Macedonian soldiers of the Seleucid army in the late 4th or early 3rd century BC, perched above the Ulubey Canyon in Usak Province, Turkey. Its ruins include a theatre, stadium, city walls, a colonnaded marble street, and the Temple of Demeter built c. 50 AD under Emperor Claudius. Inscriptions reading "Macedonian Blaundos" confirm its military colony origins. Over 400 rock-cut tombs with decorative motifs have been discovered at the site.
