KazakhstanThe Petroglyphs of Arpa-Uzen are located in the Karatau mountain range of southern Kazakhstan, on ancient migration routes at a piedmont winter pasture at 800 metres elevation. The site contains over 3,500 examples of rock art, the most abundant collection in southern Kazakhstan, spanning from the Late Bronze Age to the early 20th century. Depictions include Bactrian camels, kulans, horses, wild boars, anthropomorphic hunters and warriors, and four-wheeled chariots pulled by horses and camels. The site is on Kazakhstan's UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
