Temple of Philae

The Philae temple complex is an island-based sanctuary on Agilkia Island in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, Egypt. Originally located on Philae Island, the complex was dismantled and relocated between 1972-1980 to protect it from flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam[1]. The site contains monuments spanning from the pharaonic period to the Roman era, with the most ancient structure being a temple for the goddess Isis[1].
