Gemellae Fortress Roman

Gemellae was a Roman fort and settlement on the Sahara Desert fringe in modern Algeria, situated 25 km south and 19 km west of Biskra and 5 km southwest of M'Lili village [1]. The site likely predates Roman arrival, with an earlier Berber fortification existing before Roman occupation [1]. It was connected by a military Roman road to Castellum Dimmidi and Capsa, serving as a strategic outpost in the southern frontier [1].
