La Blanca

La Blanca is a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican archaeological site in San Marcos Department, western Guatemala, primarily occupied during the Middle Preclassic period (900–600 BC) [1]. The site represents the later phase of the Mokaya culture [1]. At its peak, La Blanca covered over 200 hectares, making it one of the largest Pacific coastal settlements in Mesoamerica during this era [1]. The site contains some of the earliest monumental architecture in the region, featuring a major pyramid complex that demonstrates advanced construction techniques [1]. La Blanca's significance stems from its role in the formative development of Mesoamerican civilization [1].
