Parque Arqueológico Zaculeu

Zaculeu is a pre-Columbian Maya archaeological site in the western highlands of Guatemala, located 3.7 km (2.3 mi) outside Huehuetenango [1]. Occupation dates to the Early Classic period (AD 250–600) [1]. The site served as the capital of the Postclassic Mam kingdom before being conquered by the K'iche' Kingdom of Q'umarkaj [1]. Zaculeu features a blend of Mam and K'iche' architectural styles [1].
