Cerro Quiac

Cerro Quiac is a Maya archaeological site at 2,635 m elevation in the Guatemalan Highlands [1]. When archaeologists visited in 1970, five stone sculptures were documented; by 1977 only four remained [1]. The sculptures featured figures and geometric designs [1]. The site continues to host contemporary Maya religious ceremonies [1]. Located in northeast Cantel municipality within Chirijquiac hamlet, Cerro Quiac overlooks the Plains of Urbina [1] [2].
