Balberta is a major Maya archaeological site on the Pacific coastal plain of southern Guatemala, dated to the Early Classic period [1]. It is the only known major site on the Guatemalan Pacific coastal plain with exposed Early Classic architecture that has not been buried under later Late Classic construction [1]. The site was related to the nearby settlement of San Antonio, located 6 km to the west [1].
