Ancient Lycian port city in a deep valley along a creek flowing into the Mediterranean. One of the six cities of the Lycian League holding three votes, Olympus had a medium-sized urban center spread along both valley sides, reflecting its maritime trade connections. The city lost importance in late Roman times but revived as a bishopric in the 5th century before being abandoned during Arab raids.[1]
