Remains of the Monastery of Holy Sion, located on Asarcik Hill on the western slope of Alacadag in the Karabel region of Beloren village, Demre district, Antalya. Founded in the first half of the 6th century by Saint Nicholas of Sion, it served as the parent church of a network of sub-monasteries across central Lycia. Excavations revealed three Byzantine sarcophagi with cross and leaf motifs dating to the second half of the 6th century. The monastery complex rivaled the diocese church at Myra in scale and quality.
