Trebenna Antike Stadt

Trebenna was an ancient Lycian city at the border with Pamphylia, located near modern Caglarca in the Konyaalti district of Antalya Province, Turkey, at 658 m elevation. First mentioned on the Stadiasmus Patarensis milestone from 45/46 AD, the city was part of the Lycian League under Roman rule. The ruins include Roman baths, an early Byzantine basilica, and three necropoleis with rock-cut tombs, sarcophagi, and unique circular rock-cut ostotheks -- cylindrical basins covered by bell-shaped stone lids that are peculiar to Trebenna. Coins bearing the image of Gordian III confirm the city's minting rights.
