Myra Antik Kenti

By the 3rd century BC, Myra was a Hellenized Lycian city on the river Myros in a fertile alluvial plain between the Massikytos range and the Aegean Sea [1]. After the wars of the diadochi, control passed to the Ptolemies, Seleucids, and finally the Romans [1]. Myra became a member of the Lycian League (168 BC - 43 AD), the first known democratic federation in history [1].
