Phaselis was an ancient Greek and Roman port city on the coast of Lycia, founded by settlers from Rhodes [1] [2]. The city had three natural harbors and became a major trading center [1] [2]. Remains include a well-preserved aqueduct, and a monumental gate built for Emperor Hadrian's visit in 129 AD [2] [3] [4]. The city was eventually abandoned in the 13th century following earthquakes [4] [5].
