Phaselis

Phaselis was a Greek and Roman port city on the coast of ancient Lycia, founded by Rhodian colonists in 690 BC. Situated on an isthmus with three harbours, it became the most important harbour city of eastern Lycia and a major trade hub linking Greece, Asia, Egypt, and Phoenicia. Alexander the Great famously wintered here during his campaign against Persia. The ruins include a colonnaded main street, Hadrian's Gate, agoras, baths, a theatre, and harbour installations, all set within a scenic pine forest surrounded by sea on three sides.
