Home Tombs

7th-century BC rock-cut necropolis known as the Evkaya Tombs or Home Tombs. Originally serving as a place of worship for deities, the complex was later repurposed for burial use. Eight tombs were carved into palagonite, a volcanic tuff formed from altered volcanic glass, with only three preserving their internal burial chambers. The site features three distinct entrance types, showcasing architectural evolution over centuries of use. [1]
