Büyük Hamam

The Buyuk Hamam (Great Bath) stands among the Roman-era ruins of Phaselis, an ancient Lycian port city near modern Tekirova in Antalya Province, Turkey. Founded by Rhodian colonists in 690 BC, the city's 24-metre-wide colonnaded main street connecting its harbours is flanked by public structures including both a large and a small bath. The baths date to approximately the 3rd-4th century AD and preserve brick foundations and remnants of the Roman hypocaust heating system. Phaselis is now a national park where visitors can explore these ruins among fragrant pines along the Lycian coast.
