Arykanda is an ancient Lycian city built on five terraces on a mountain slope about 1,000 meters above sea level, near present-day Aykiriçay in Antalya Province, Turkey [1][2]. The 'anda' ending of its name suggests an origin in the Anatolian Bronze Age, making it one of the oldest Lycian cities [2]. Despite its ancient origins, the visible ruins date primarily from the 6th or 5th century BCE to the Roman period [2].
