Al Diwan

Al Diwan is a 1st-century AD monument in Madain Saleh, Saudi Arabia, comprising a square chamber carved into a hillside for wind protection[1]. Inside, three stone benches form a triclinium used for sacred feasts[1]. It is one of the few surviving examples of non-funerary Nabataean architecture[1]. Niches in the rock once held carvings of Nabataean deities, though weathering has severely damaged these figures[1]. The monument dates to 1-500 AD within the Madain Saleh archaeological site[1][2].
