Tayata

Tayata is an ancient settlement in Oaxaca's Mixteca Region of southwestern Mexico. Occupied from approximately 1000 BC to 300 BC, it predates the Classical Period Mixteca culture by several centuries [1]. Archaeological evidence including grave goods and housing patterns suggests the settlement may have functioned as a political center during its peak [1].
