JordanThe Temple of Hercules, also known as the Great Temple of Amman, is a Roman temple complex located on the Amman Citadel in Jordan, dating from the 2nd century AD [1] [2]. It was the temple within a Roman temenos (sacred precinct) [2] [3]. Fragments of a colossal stone statue were discovered at the site—only three fingers and an elbow survive [1] [4]. The site sits at 838 metres above sea level [5].
