Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum

The Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang is a necropolis complex in Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi, built for the first emperor of the Qin dynasty[1]. Construction lasted 38 years from 246 to 208 BC[1]. The tomb lies beneath a 76-metre-tall truncated pyramid-shaped mound[1]. The complex layout mirrors Xianyang, the Qin capital, with an inner city (2.5 km circumference) and outer city (6.3 km circumference)[1]. The main chamber contains the emperor's coffin and burial artifacts[1].
