Samshvilde is a fortified city and archaeological site in Georgia's Kvemo Kartli region, located in the Khrami river valley near the modern village of Tetritsqaro[1]. The ruins stretch approximately 2.5 km in length and 400 metres in width[1]. Key monuments include the Samshvilde Sioni church and a citadel erected on a rocky river promontory[1].
