Vani is a town in western Georgia's Imereti region, situated on the Sulori River, approximately 41 km southwest of Kutaisi[1]. Archaeological excavations since 1947 have revealed the remains of an ancient city dating from 500 BC to 1 AD[2]. Four distinct occupational phases have been identified[2]. Today, Vani serves as an administrative center with a population of 3,744 (2014)[1].
