Nekresi

Nekresi is an archaeological site in Georgia's Kakheti region, situated between Qvareli and Shilda at the foothills of the Greater Caucasus. The settlement existed from the 5th century BC to the 1st century AD, making it one of the oldest urban centers in eastern Georgia. The site features ancient architectural fragments, including massive carved pillars and foundations of significant buildings. The Nekresi monastery, founded in the 6th century, remains operational today [1].
