Lake Paliastomi

Lake Paliastomi is a shallow coastal lagoon in western Georgia near the city of Poti, with a surface area of 17.3 km² and mean depth of 2.6 m [1]. Connected to the Black Sea by a narrow channel, archaeological excavations have yielded Colchis artifacts including bronze objects, pottery, and weapons dating from the 13th century BC to the 2nd century AD [1]. The lake remains an important fishery [1].
