Georgia (country)Anacopia Fortress is an ancient military citadel in New Athos in the disputed Abkhazia region of Georgia, located 22 km along the coast from Sukhumi. The site measures approximately 450 × 150 meters and sits 1.6 km inland atop Iverian Mountain. It represents the most complete surviving structure of ancient Anacopia, which served as the capital of the Kingdom of Abkhazia [1].
