A Roman temple in Ankara (ancient Ancyra), erected between 25 and 20 BC after Augustus conquered Galatia and made the city the provincial capital. Built on the site of an earlier Phrygian temple of Men, the pseudodipteral structure features Corinthian columns on a 55-by-36-metre podium. Famous for the Monumentum Ancyranum, an almost complete copy of Augustus's autobiography 'Res Gestae Divi Augusti' inscribed in both Latin and Greek on its walls after his death in 14 AD. Later converted to a church and adjoined by the Haci Bayram Mosque in 1427.
